FIS Autumn Meetings 2026: a milestone for collaboration and transparency

From 28 September to 3 October, the 2026 FIS Autumn Meetings will be held for the first time in Geneva, Switzerland. 

More than ever, the FIS Technical Committee Autumn Meetings will serve as an important gathering for the wider FIS Family. As the first Technical Committee Meetings since the elections in June, they provide a valuable opportunity for the newly elected leadership to lay a strong foundation for collaboration across the organization as a new Olympic and Paralympic cycle begins. 

The motto "Building Bridges", which guided Alexander Ospelt's campaign for the FIS Presidency, will begin to take a more concrete shape throughout the week. Proceedings will start on Monday with an internal Town Hall bringing together all FIS staff, during which senior leadership will present key updates and strategic priorities for the 2026/27 season. 

All member NSAs will then be the guests of the annual FIS Summit on Tuesday. While the Summit is traditionally focused on developing nations holding one or two votes, the 2026 edition will provide an ideal opportunity for FIS, through its President and Secretary General, to update its entire membership on key topics and outline priorities for the near future in a spirit of transparency and open dialogue. 

The Summit will also serve as an important platform for NSA representatives to share their questions, needs, and expectations. It will conclude with an informal reception during which the FIS Climate Awards 2025/26 will be presented. 

The FIS Climate Awards recognize individuals and organizations demonstrating exemplary commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions, whether through the use of the FIS CO₂ Calculator to measure, understand and actively reduce their environmental impact, or through innovative projects, advocacy efforts and other sustainability initiatives. 

Awards will be presented in three categories: 

• NSAs 

• LOCs 

• Athletes 

Another key milestone of the week will come on Thursday, 1 October, when the FIS Council convenes to continue its discussions on the strategic and sporting priorities that will shape the future of FIS and its disciplines. 

Beyond these key events, the week will feature a full program of discipline-specific technical meetings, all focused on preparing for an important and demanding World Championships season. Together, the meetings, Summit, and awards ceremonies will set the tone for the new Olympic and Paralympic cycle, strengthening collaboration across the FIS Family and helping shape the future direction of snow sports.
